The town of Cesenatico

Located in Romagna, about 20 km north-west of Rimini, is one of the most popular locations on the Adriatic coast.
It was built to give the nearby town of Cesena access to the sea: the beginning of 1500 the great Leonardo da Vinci designed the work of strengthening the port. This great work is the symbol of the city, along with Zadina, Valverde and Villa Marina, offers 7 km of well-equipped beach and fine sand.

Along the Canal Harbour you can admire the interesting Maritime Museum, a floating museum, the only one of its kind in Italy: along the channel are shown the prototypes of the boats used for fishing before the advent of the motor.

These historical and colorful sailing boats are identified by picturesque names: Bragozzo, Battana, Bragozzo offshore, Lancia, Trabaccolo fishing, Mouse, Paranza and Barchèt.

Around the Port runs the Old Town, with low typical pastel-colored houses of the fishermen: the “Conserve”, the ice for the preservation of ancient fish with the help of snow or ice.

Cesenatico offers visitors a multitude of sports and offers modern and comfortable: with the traditional spirit of hospitality and gastronomy Romagnolo generous and well-known, Cesenatico has all the ingredients for a beach holiday on the Adriatic coast. Of particular importance is the bike race “Nove Colli”, now in its 42nd edition and since 1970 calls in Romagna, from all over Europe, the greatest sport of cycling.
